How tulpn works
Your app tells tulpn what happened. tulpn works out who earned what, and when it's safe to pay them.
If you run the business
- Register and set your terms. Choose the commission percentage, whether it's paid once or every month, how long to wait before it becomes payable, and the minimum payout.
- Connect your app. Your backend sends a handful of events to the tulpn API: a link was clicked, someone signed up, someone paid, cancelled or got a refund. Most people send them from their billing webhooks.
- Invite promoters. They sign up on your own page,
yourbusiness.tulpn.com, and get their own link. - Pay out. When a promoter asks for a payout, you get an email. You pay them however you normally pay people.
If you're a promoter
- Sign up with your email address. No password: we email you a link whenever you want to log in.
- Share your link wherever your audience is.
- Watch your dashboard for clicks, referrals and earnings, or let the email digest tell you.
- Request a payout once your payable balance reaches the business's minimum.
The life of a commission
This is the part that saves you from paying out on money you never kept.
If the customer cancels or gets a refund while the commission is still pending, it's voided and nobody gets paid for a sale that didn't stick. A refund after the commission became payable is flagged so you can decide what to do.
Different currencies? No problem
Customers can pay in any major currency. Promoters see one balance in your payout currency. tulpn converts using the European Central Bank rate for the day of the purchase, or you can convert the amounts yourself before you send them.
